Program Notes:
...recalculating... is concerned with the changes of direction in life, when our personal GPS finds itself confused and in an unexpected neighborhood due to a new road that just opened up or some construction that has closed down our usual route, or just due to a simple wrong turn. The piece was written for the aria trio (Anna Hendrickson, Julianne Kirk Doyle, and Carol Lowe), and the group's occasional guest, saxophonist Robert Young, all members of The Crane School of Music faculty at the time the work was written.
